그리고 그 계절이 매우 짧았기 때문에, 모든 사람들은 해가 뜰 때부터 해가 질 때까지 일을 해야 했다. 그들은 딸기를 따자마자 한 밭에서 다른 밭으로 옮겨갔다. 그들은 마굿간이나 아니면 그들이 찾을 수 있는 어떤 곳에서든 잠을 잤다.

If it had been a good season for the berries and if there were many berries to pick, there would sometimes be as many as thirty-five or forty people in one field.
And, because the season was so short, everybody had to work from sunrise to sunset. We used to have the best of times picking strawberries, There were always a lot of girls there and it was a great fun teasing them.
